  Billions of Christians do not fear a global melt down. Jesus asked people over and over to "fear not". God says that because he has not appointed us to see the coming wrath, it is reality to rejoice over:

  The reign of the Anti-Christ will be beyond dreadful. There will be nowhere to hide because of technology. But, because Jesus is in a contractural relationship with believers, analgalous to a marriage; the Lord will not make us go through this difficult time where perhaps 3/4 of the world's population will be reduced in horrible ways.
  
  God is not a wife beater.

  But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day would overtake you like a thief; 5for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness;... 9For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep, we will live together with Him. 11Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing [with these words]. 1 Thess. 5

  These verses pertain to the coming Rapture of Saints (believers):

  1 Thessalonians 4:17 - Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
  
  Luke 17:34-37 - I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. (Read More...)
  
  1 Thessalonians 4:16 - For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
  
  Revelation 3:10 - Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

  While I'm gone during this time, there will be the most fantastic party in heaven the universe has ever seen. The Marriage Supper of the Lamb. In stark contrast, on earth, people will experience what it is like without the Holy Spirit (God on earth) restraining evil. It will be utterly horrifying. I think a lot of people will change their minds about inviting Jesus into their heart when they see the absence of good on the earth. Unfortunately, any who deny the mark of the beast will likely be murdered, but not forgotten.

  But I digress. Immediately after the marriage supper of the Lamb, Christ will visibly return to this earth to execute judgment on the Anti-Christ, put down evil, and set up His kingdom. He returns “with all His saints” (1 Th. 3:13), not just with the Church. Prior to the Tribulation the dead in Christ will be raised from the dead, those of us alive at that time will be changed, and together we shall all be caught up to meet the Lord in the air. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 sets this glorious hope, commonly called the Rapture, before us.
  

  So, what I am telling all my friends here is that if I stop posting here for a few years, and if you hear rumors that many people have mysteriously disappeared: I want you all to know one thing:

  Zech. 12: 3 - On that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves. (NIV)

  Imagine bulldozing a field and a small rock is encountered that the bulldozer cannot move out of the way. You get off the tractor and look at the stone and scratch your head because the stone seems to defy the laws of physics.

  You try again and again to push the stone out of the way, but your dozer just stops when the stone is hit. You try diging it out with a backhoe, you try blasting it out, but nothings seems to be able to move it.

  What's going on in Israel is at the foundation of the US plan. And the Netanyahoo's over there are all too eager to participate because they think they will come out on top in a land grab.
  I assure you, they will burn.

  @ lastmanstanding: Not yours? Here's the historical view on Daniel 11. The King of the North was Syria and the King of the South was Egypt.

  Projecting another layer of fulfillment beyound that is pretty dicey.

  What is definitely not in line with biblle bile prophecy is your statement about Israel burning:

  Many scriptures indicate that when the Lord regathers the people of Israael "a second time" from the four corners of the globe (as has happened steadily since around 1900 or so ) and after the two nations of Israel are combined into one (as happened in 1948) then, the nation of Israel will never again be totally destroyed and dispersed.
  
  See these prophecies, may of which, as I stated, have already happened.

  And do justice and righteousness in the land.

  “In His days Judah will be saved,

  And Israel will dwell securely;

  ‘The Lord our righteousness.’ “Therefore behold, the days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when they will no longer say, ‘As the Lord lives, who brought up the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt,’ but, ‘As the Lord lives, who brought up and led back the descendants of the household of Israel from the north land and from all the countries where I had driven them.’ Then they will live on their own soil.”

  Ezekiel 37:21-25

  Israel's current borders are very different than the borders God decreed in Scripture. The original borders will be restored.... doubtless in one of the coming failed attempts to remove Israel from the only real estate deal brokerd by God himself - the original land of Israel.
  
  I'm afraid thogh that Israel has much hardship to endure until they finally surrender and declare enmasse "blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord".In the end, when Israel is facing total destruction by the Anti-Christ, when they cry out like a sheep does when attacked by wolves. It is a special kind of sound the sheep makes when facing death.

  Due to the preaching of the real 144k (male Jewish virgins) during the great tribulation the entire nation will be begging, with strong outcries for the Blessed One to come back and be their King.... not like last time when the rulers conspired to kill him.
  
  Jesus will not return until his people beg him too. Israel has much humiliation to endure between now and then. But, one thing is certain. The Israli people will never again be without a homeland.... forever.

  The WT has only been sorry that others doubt their supremacy. They are sincerely and truly sorry for that. Out of humility and respect for others, they typically don't express these feelings of sympathy openly. But those close to the GB have admitted as much.

  carla, you are exactly right. I have heard over the years stuff like:

  1. Jehovah judges us based on our

  * intent

  * conscience

  * sincerity

  * motive

  Never even a hint that God judges us based on the ten commandments.

  Your statement about failed prophecies is spot on as well too. One prominent JW flat out told me that 1975 the failed prediction showed alertness (motive) even if they got it wrong. Why it never occurred to him (or me at that time) that the OT punishment for speaking in the name of God with a false prophecy was death, is quite odd looking back.

  Oh well, at least he was sincere, sincerely wrong.

  He believes the religion WANTS people to leave. He thinks they want them out of the halls so they can sell them. He even thinks keeping people home during Covid longer was to break the habit of people going to the halls.

  Makes sense. They really are not attracting new converts. The internet has destroyed their doctrine. Interesting thought.

  Don't know why he felt the need to talk about his personal issues when describing JW parents shunning. Hell, I got abandoned at age 14 for doing nothing more that trying to stay sane, while not being allowed to:

  1. Play sports

  2. Draw mazes for the school newspaper

  3. Do anything other than stare at the walls until it was time to go to the meeting.

  4. Have a girlfriend from school

  5. Go to a school football game, dance, prom, etc.

  Of course, it didn't help my parents cause that my teen years were directly after 1975, the biggest pile of dukey that the WT laid on kids. We were pissed that everyone just acted like a bunch of robots like nothing of any significance had occurred.

  BTW, Is this thread about Homos or JW parents shunning?
